Reservations

If you’d like to reserve a table at Ludica, great! Because there’s no one quite like us, we find different people have different expectations, so we want to make sure you’re cool with how we do things. So have a read and confirm you’re okay with all of this.

You don’t always need a reservation. We try to keep some tables free for walk-ins… but those fill up fast on a busy night.
We don’t charge for the games, but we’re a restaurant, so food is our business. You need to order enough food and/or drink at least equivalent in cost to a small meal for everyone at the table.
You can stay at your table up to two hours on busy nights. That’s enough time to eat and play a game from our shelves. You can probably stay longer if we don’t need the table, but if there are people waiting for a free table, please be understanding.

We’re best with small groups, of six or fewer people. We’re not a very big restaurant and have a low-capacity kitchen.

If you have a large group, there’ll be an automatic gratuity of 18% applied to your bill. This is for groups of 6 or more in Vancouver, 7 or more in New West. Everyone may get their food and drink orders a bit staggered.

​We’re a great place for families with kids! One of the best, we think. But please, no large children’s parties. We aren’t a good place for kids to run around with little supervision.

There are two fees we may charge: A corkage fee of $15 for outside wine brought in, and a “cakeage” fee of $1/person for outside dessert brought in. Other outside food is not allowed unless cleared in advance (like for special dietary needs).
We might need to call to confirm you’re coming. So please leave a phone number you can be reached at the same day. If you’re running late, please call to let us know, or else we might think you’re a no-show. If you aren’t on time and we can’t reach you, we can’t hold the table for you. Otherwise it just wouldn’t be fair to others waiting for a table.
For groups of size 2 to 6, just come! We leave some tables for walk-ins, and maintain a waitlist if we’re full. If you really want to book your table a day or more in advance, you can try calling when we’re open. ​

For groups of size 7 to 26, fill out the form below, which sends us an email. We’ll check if we can accommodate you and get back to you, usually within 24 hours. Note that we don’t take groups of 13+ on busy Fridays or Saturdays.

TABLE TIME

Standard reservation time is 3 hours. You may stay longer based on availability.

CANCELLATION

Please let us know at least 2 hours in advance for cancellations.

Groups of 12 or more may require a deposit. Contact us for details.

FOOD & DRINK

Food & drinks are required for all guests. No outside food or drinks allowed.

Please note: Hitting Submit sends us an email with your request, which we’ll usually check in a day or two.

  • This does not create a reservation automatically. It just sends us an email. We’ll almost always reply within a day or two to confirm yes or no, or if we have any questions.
  • As such, don’t use this to request short-notice reservations — we may not see it in time. Use this to request a reservation days in advance. In general, we don’t take same-day reservations; at that late point we leave the rest of our tables for walk-ins.
  • If you don’t see a reply within 24 hours, check your junk mailbox. If you didn’t get a confirmation email, it may have been sent to spam. This is especially true for Hotmail users!

  • Friday and Saturday evenings are our busiest times.
